Places you enjoy being.

October 24, 2008

Go to your happy place. A saying I have heard before, but have never really undertood what it meant. As simple as the concept is, visit a comforting situation in your mind to gain a certain feeling, it doesn’t resonate with me. Yes there are things in my life that make me happy, but they don’t make me feel like I am in a “happy place.” Most likely because I am a contrary bastard who just doesn’t like the way that saying sounds. When I envision a happy place I think of physical locations. Places that I enjoy being. Read the rest of this entry »

Other people running hopeless campaigns.

September 10, 2008

Not saying that my campaign is totally hopeless, but I doubt I will get the required 270 electoral votes needed to best Jo Biden or Sarah Palin since my advertising budget is currently $1.22. That won’t get me very far in the battleground states. Apparently I am not the only one with delusions of grandeur. Here are some other people (in addition to Ralph Nader) who are running hopleless campaigns: Read the rest of this entry »

Search terms leading people to this site.

September 9, 2008

Obviously this is more of an entry for your amusement than it is for garnering the charm and wit of my loyal readers. What brought this about was the fact that this blog recently reached 10,000 views so I decided to show you why. Most of the traffic has been generated by my super awesome friends, and my now super awesome virtual friends, but people doing web searches also make up a considerable portion of the traffic. Positive smells ingrained into your mind.

August 13, 2008

Sight, hearing, touching, taste, and smell. Five senses we learned about as children that hopefully stay with us for the duration of our lives. Positive memories are often associated with, and possibly triggered by the sense of smell. For me it is the strongest way for me to remember past events. From the sterile scent of the hospital the first time I received allergy shots to the aroma of the gym on my first day of high school, smelling certain things takes me back to those moments. Don’t get me wrong, in no way are smells limited to positive memories, but for the purpose of this post it is what we will stick with: Read the rest of this entry »

Foods you could (or do) eat everyday.

July 31, 2008

Food is one of my favorite things in the world. How can you not like it? It nourishes our bodies and gives us the energy to do mundane tasks like file away invoices once we have completed billing. Or paying bills if you aren’t an accountant. Most of us have developed favorites over the years and that’s what this list is all about. I’m not very particular about what I eat (unlike a vegetarian friend of mine who doesn’t eat tomatoes or olives. How that works I don’t know) as you can see from my list: Read the rest of this entry »

Condiments you enjoy.

July 4, 2008

Most of you will be partaking in some sort of cookout or party this weekend to celebrate Independence Day. Therefore most of you will also be consuming a variety of condiments. Condiments are defined as “something used to enhance the flavor of food, making their possibilities endless. They have also lead to one of the greatest debates of our time. What do you top your hot dog with? My experience didn’t go very far past mustard and ketchup until I was introduced to a honey dog in college. Never would I have thought to use honey as a topping, but once I tried it I was hooked ever since. Nontraditional condiments like honey are out there including one that’s on my list:
