Dates memorable for all the right reasons.

Today’s subject is easy enough to understand, yet it is more complex than you might think. Using the traditional sense of the word, one would assume that I meant only romantic dates. Not so. Merriam-Webster’s online dictionary defines a date as “an appointment to meet at a specified time; especially : a social engagement between two persons that often has a romantic character.” Did you catch that? It often has a romantic character but not exclusively, meaning dates don’t always have to be awkward encounters with people you may or may not want to pursue a relationship with. In my early years, dating was never something I did on a regular basis because of my extreme lack of self-confidence and my debilitating fear of rejection. In my early years…who am I kidding? Unexpected essentials.

Originally this post was going to be titled “Things you were accidentally introduced to that you eventually fell in love with.” Not only is that a terribly long name, but it’s also confusing as hell. If you read that as a title you would be less interested in posting than you were for the previous entry (I still don’t care what you think, puke stories are hilarious). After deliberating with one of my most trusted confidantes I settled on the current title, though it still doesn’t really speak to what this list means. Oftentimes we don’t go outside our comfort zones to seek new experiences and because of this we aren’t exposed to new things. New unexpected experiences that you can’t imagine being without is what this list is about. If you still don’t get it you can simply read my list:
