And we’re back. Oh how I have missed thee. What happened to me? Well I am glad you asked. Here are my reasons for neglecting my blog.

Depression seems to be a common theme amongst my plethora of (unstable) friends. Inevitably I know someone who is going through a rough patch either because they aren’t on meds, they forgot to take their meds, or they ran out of their meds. Yours truly is no exception to this rule, and I regularly deal with the unfortunate affliction that is depression. Today I was reminded of a song by New Buffalo. “Cheer Me Up Thank You” is a good poppy tune that puts me in a lighthearted mood, but it got me thinking about the things that are able to physically and psychologically cheer me up:

Recently, when searching for a theme song to put on my friend’s blog, I came across some interesting videos. 30 minutes of 80’s cartoon openings, 30 minutes of 90’s cartoon openings, and Top 10 cartoon theme songs from the 80’s. If you were born in the late 70’s to early 80’s and have an hour and ten minutes to kill, you should really watch them all the way through. All but a handful of the 80’s cartoons I remember, but I wasn’t as good with the 90’s stuff. Possibly because I only watched cartoons up until the early part of that decade, but boy did I ever enjoy them. It’s one of those things where you never know how much something shaped your life until you look back and reminisce about it. There were cartoons (and subsequently toys that went with them) I saw that were long ago forgotten, yet I nearly wet my pants with excitement watching their intro. Some of you may be thinking “Well I can just look at lots of that stuff on Retro Junk,” but being surprised by what’s coming next is, and I’m quoting Michaelangelo the Ninja Turtle here, “Radi-cool!” Things I learned by watching these vids:

I am finally back at home from my whirlwind tour of insanity/awesomticity that was chocked full of wedding. As some of my friends have graciously pointed out, there have been a few days where I missed posts. Trust me, you would not have wanted to see anything I had to post on those days. In order to make up for it I will be posting multiple lists until I get caught up to the regular schedule.

Thanks to those of you who regularly comment and read this blog. I already have more material than I anticipated having for the entire project. To the people who haven’t commented yet but have lists prepared and want them to be perfect: who cares. Post them. Mine are far from perfect and I will only judge you a little bit.
